Fidya | A Table for Each Missed Day

Someone who cannot fast because of a lasting sickness or old age and cannot make up the days feeds a poor person for each day. That is fidya.

The days left unkept are counted one by one and a meal is set aside for each. The whole count is shown to you plainly.

It is not tied to the Eid and can be given at any time of year. The meals go out when the need is there.

The home the fidya will reach is seen on the ground and filed by our field team. It goes only to homes truly in need.

The meals are given to the family in person quietly and with dignity. Nobody comes in between.

Yes. If your relative's illness is lasting and they cannot fast you can give their fidya with their permission. If the illness is temporary the days should be made up later.

A dated and located record of the handover is added to your donor panel within 72 hours.

No. Fidya stands in for fasts that cannot be kept. Zakat is a duty paid once a year by those who hold a certain amount of wealth.

Yes. The count covers every day of that month and each day's meal reaches a home in need.

It reaches families in the areas of greatest need. Every distribution is followed on its own file.

Fidya is given without hurt. The family receives not a favour but its own right.
