Home Data Deletion Instructions

Data Deletion Instructions

Effective Date: May 1, 2026 · Last Updated: August 2, 2026

Quenara Foundation respects your right to request the deletion of your personal data, under GDPR Article 17 (the “right to erasure”) and the California Consumer Privacy Act right to delete. This page explains exactly how to make that request, what happens next, and which records we are legally required to keep.

1. How to Request Data Deletion

To delete your account and all of your personal data, use any one of the three methods below.

Method 1 – By email

Send an email to info@quenarafoundation.com containing:

  • Subject line: Data Deletion Request
  • Your registered email address
  • Your user name, if you have one
  • A short statement confirming your request

Method 2 – From your account page

If you have an active account:

  • Sign in and open the My Account page
  • Choose Account Settings and then Delete My Account
  • Click the link in the confirmation email

Method 3 – From the Quenara app

In the Quenara mobile app, open Profile, then Settings, then Delete My Account. Your account is deleted immediately. Your donation receipts are kept in anonymised form because the law requires it.

2. How Deletion Works

  • We verify your identity within 72 hours of receiving your request
  • All of your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days of that verification
  • The minimum donation records we are legally required to keep for tax and audit purposes are anonymised
  • You receive a confirmation email once the process is complete

3. Data That Is Not Deleted

The following is kept for a limited period, in anonymised form, because the law requires it:

  • Donation records for IRS reporting and receipt substantiation (7 years)
  • Transaction history for financial audit (7 years)

Once that legal retention period expires, these records are deleted as well.

4. Linked Social Accounts

If you signed in with Google or Facebook and only want to remove that link, you can use Disconnect instead of deleting your account. Your donation history stays intact.

5. Contact

For questions and requests, write to info@quenarafoundation.com. We complete every request within 30 days at the latest.
