Cookie Policy
Effective Date: May 28, 2026 · Last Updated: May 28, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Quenara Foundation, the humanitarian aid brand operated by No Name Foundation (a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit based in Dover, Delaware, USA, EIN: 35-2882867), uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on quenarafoundation.com. It complements our Privacy Policy and Data Protection Notice, focusing specifically on how the website remembers you across pages and visits.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They allow the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login state, language choice, region currency) over a period of time, so you do not have to re enter them every time you come back or browse from one page to another. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags.
2. Cookie Categories
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function. They cannot be disabled in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions made by you (logging in, filling forms, setting privacy preferences). You can block these in your browser but parts of the site will not work.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| q_lang | Stores your language preference (TR or EN) | 1 year |
| q_region | Stores your geographic region for currency display | 1 year |
| wordpress_logged_in_* | Donor account authentication session | Session or 14 days if “remember me” |
| wp_lang | WordPress core language setting | 1 year |
| cookie_consent | Records your cookie consent choices | 1 year |
| woocommerce_cart_hash | Tracks donation cart contents | Session |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Stripe fraud prevention and payment session | 1 year and 30 minutes |
2.2 Performance and Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us measure and improve the performance of the website. They are set only with your explicit consent through our cookie banner. They count visits and traffic sources to help us optimize the user experience.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics: distinguishes unique users | 2 years (only if you consent) |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 session and event tracking | 2 years (only if you consent) |
| cf_clearance | Cloudflare bot protection | 30 days |
2.3 Marketing and Advertising Cookies
We do not run paid third party advertising campaigns on the donor site. We participate in the Google Ad Grants program (free advertising for nonprofits) and use Google’s conversion tracking only with your explicit consent.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _gcl_au | Google Ads conversion attribution | 3 months (only if you consent) |
| NID, IDE | Google identification (only when third party features are enabled) | 6 months and 1 year |
2.4 Social Media Cookies
We do not embed social media tracking widgets on the donation pages. If you click a “share” link, you are taken to the social media platform’s own site where their cookies and policies apply.
3. Legal Basis for Cookies
- Strictly necessary cookies: processed under legitimate interest and ePrivacy Directive exemption Article 5(3) (no consent required because they are necessary for the service you requested),
- Performance, analytics, marketing cookies: processed only with your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and ePrivacy Directive Article 5(3) opt in requirement).
4. Your Cookie Choices
4.1 Cookie Banner
The first time you visit our site, a cookie banner appears at the bottom of the page. You can:
- Accept all: consent to strictly necessary, analytics, and marketing cookies,
- Reject all (except necessary): only strictly necessary cookies will operate,
- Manage preferences: choose category by category which cookies to enable.
4.2 Changing Your Mind
You can change your cookie preferences anytime by clicking the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of every page. Your new choice takes effect immediately for future browsing.
4.3 Browser Controls
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Each browser offers different mechanisms:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data,
- Firefox: Preferences > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data,
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data,
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions,
- Mobile browsers: usually under Settings or Privacy.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break donation flow, language switching, and login. Blocking analytics cookies only affects our ability to improve the site, not your ability to donate.
5. Third Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by third party services we use to operate the donation platform. We choose these providers carefully and bind them by Data Processing Agreements where required.
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing, fraud prevention | stripe.com/privacy |
| Cloudflare | CDN, bot protection, performance | cloudflare.com/privacypolicy |
| Google (Ad Grants, Analytics) | Conversion tracking, anonymized analytics | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Hostinger | Web hosting infrastructure | hostinger.com/privacy policy |
6. Do Not Track Signals
Our website respects the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. If your browser sends a GPC or DNT signal, we automatically treat your visit as if you had opted out of analytics and marketing cookies, with no further banner interaction required.
7. Cookies and Data Retention
Cookies are deleted automatically based on their expiration date set above. You can delete cookies manually at any time through your browser. Deleting strictly necessary cookies may sign you out of your donor account and erase your language and region preferences.
8. International Transfers
Some third party cookie providers (Stripe, Google, Cloudflare) are based in the United States. Their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policies, and we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for any transfers covered under GDPR. For more on international transfers, see Section 8 of our Data Protection Notice.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we make material changes:
- We will post the revised Cookie Policy with an updated “Last Updated” date,
- If new tracking technologies are added, the cookie banner will re trigger so you can review your consent,
- For donors with active marketing consent, we will notify by email at least 14 days before material change.
