Emergency relief and disasters
What do you do when a disaster strikes?
We follow disasters around the world in real time through official sources. When a major disaster strikes, our first step is to reach our team and field partner in that region. Together we assess the need on the ground, buy locally whenever we can and hand aid to families ourselves.
How do you decide which crisis to respond to?
Our Emergency Response Center follows crises around the world through official sources and gives each one an urgency score. We go to the field for crises scoring 70 or higher. We always put the families in the hardest situations first, especially women, children, the elderly, people with disabilities and the sick.
Which emergencies do you respond to?
We stand with families through earthquakes, floods, storms, wildfires, volcanic eruptions, outbreaks, war, hunger and harsh winters. We never forget Our Furry Friends who are hurt or far from home after a disaster. Our Emergency Response Center follows these events all over the world. Outside sanctioned regions, we try to reach every place where help is needed.
Do you take part in search and rescue?
Yes. In a disaster zone, our team works alongside local responders to reach people under rubble, cut off by floods or fleeing a fire. A gift for search and rescue equipment goes straight into this work.
Do you also help Our Furry Friends and wildlife in a disaster?
Of course. In wildfires we rescue injured wildlife, make sure they are treated and stay with them until they can return to the wild. Our Furry Friends who end up far from home receive the same tender care.
How do you help in places facing war and hunger?
In Gaza, Yemen and Sudan we bring families hot meals, bread, clean water, winter aid and medicine. Whenever we can, we buy the bread from local bakeries, so the help also keeps life going in the neighborhood.
How is my gift to an emergency appeal used?
Our emergency appeals support everything our team does in that disaster. Search and rescue and evacuations come first, then the help that reaches families as they return home. Within 72 hours, we write to tell you the region your gift reached, which day of the response it was and which stage it joined.
What is the first thing you do when news of a disaster or war arrives?
Our Emergency Response Center follows earthquakes, floods, fires, outbreaks and wars through official sources throughout the day. When a major disaster strikes, our first step is to reach our team and field partner in that region. We learn what families need by talking with them on the ground, and we hand the aid to them ourselves.
Do you stay with families after the first days of a disaster?
Yes. Our work begins with search and rescue and evacuations, but it does not end there. We are with families when the water recedes, when the danger has passed and when they return home. We remain by their side while they recover.
What is the urgency score?
Our Emergency Response Center gives every crisis it follows an urgency score out of 100. The score reflects how severe the event is, how many people it affects and the situation the country is already in. We follow every crisis scoring 50 or higher closely, and we go to the field for those scoring 70 or higher.
What did you do after the Flores earthquake?
When a magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck off Flores on August 14, 2026, we opened our appeal and our Every.org campaign the next day, and our Benevity campaign the day after. Our team in Bali led the response on the ground, and our first distribution reached 500 families. Today we are still with families as they leave their tents for timber shelters.
What is the difference between an alert and a crisis?
An alert is a notice that an official source issues on a given day about a hazard or a crisis in a country. The same crisis can bring alerts from many sources over many days. That is why this report counts the alerts we review, not crises.
Does the map include crises I don't see in the news?
Yes. Our Emergency Response Center scores every crisis by how severe it is, how many people it affects and the situation the country is already in. How much a crisis is talked about in the news does not set its score. That is why you will also find floods and outbreaks that quickly fade from the headlines.
Can I direct my gift to a specific disaster?
This question is about the information on our Why Quenara page. You can read the answer there, alongside the details it describes. Read it on the Why Quenara page
How we work in the field
Who delivers the aid on the ground?
In the US, our own field team delivers it. In other countries, our team works shoulder to shoulder with local partners who have known the region for years. Our operations center in Istanbul follows crises and records every delivery.
How do you choose your local partners?
Before we begin working with a partner, we get to know them closely. We look at what they have done before, how they are known in the region and who trusts them. We screen our partners and their managers against sanctions lists regularly. In the field, our team stays beside them.
How do you keep aid from falling into the wrong hands in war zones?
This is one of the things we care about most. We get to know a partner well before we start working together. We screen our partners and their managers against US and international sanctions lists regularly. We collect beneficial ownership (BOI) information from them and pass these records to the authorities. We never work in sanctioned regions.
Which countries do you work in?
We stand with families in the US and in 48 countries around the world. Palestine, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Nepal are some of them. We do not work in sanctioned regions.
Do you make any distinction when you give aid?
Never. We deliver aid based only on need, without any distinction of religion, language, origin, gender or belief. Every person who needs help matters equally to us.
How do you protect the dignity of families and children in photos?
The dignity of families and children comes before everything else for us. We always ask for permission before taking a photo. We also have a comprehensive written child protection policy, and our work in the field is guided by it.
How do you work in the US and around the world?
In the US, our own field team delivers the aid. Around the world, we stand with families in 48 countries through our teams and local partners. Today we have local partners in 48 countries who help kindness grow alongside us. New partners join this journey every day, so the number of countries we can reach keeps growing. In Indonesia, Palestine, Bangladesh and Nepal, for example, our own teams are at work. In Yemen, Somalia, Afghanistan and Lebanon, local partners who have known their regions for years work shoulder to shoulder with us. Wherever we go, we place the aid in families' own hands. Our operations center, where we follow crises and record every delivery, is in Istanbul.
Do you help families in the US too?
Of course. We have our own field team in the United States. In floods, storms and wildfires, this team goes straight to the families. It also reaches Our Furry Friends living on the streets. The orange bars in the missions by type chart show these missions in the US.
What are the six steps?
Monitoring, Contact, Assessment, Procurement, Distribution and Record. When word of a disaster comes in, we know what to do, because we have walked this road for years. Each of the six steps has someone from our team behind it, and none of us lets go until the aid reaches families.
Why do you buy in the region?
Wherever we can, we buy from local shops. That way the aid reaches families by a shorter road, and the money stays in that town and helps it recover.
Giving
Can I direct my gift to a specific project?
Of course. Every giving page on our website belongs to a specific need or project, and your gift goes where you choose. General gifts go wherever the need is greatest at that moment.
Can I give on a regular basis?
Yes. On our website, you can set up your gift to repeat every week or every month. Regular gifts let us stand by families without interruption and make long lasting projects possible. If you ever wish to change your plan, simply write to us.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Through Stripe, you can give by credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Card payments meet the industry's PCI DSS security standard, and your card details are never stored on our systems. If you prefer to give by bank transfer, your transfer reaches our account safely through our Wise infrastructure. Simply write to us for our account details.
Can I cancel my gift or ask for a refund?
Of course. If you write to us within 72 hours of your gift, we will cancel it and refund you. After that, the aid has often already reached a family. Because we cannot take back help that is already in a family's hands, refunds are only possible within this time. Thank you so much for understanding.
Can I give through my donor advised fund (DAF)?
Yes. We are enrolled with Fidelity Charitable, and you can also find us on Vanguard Charitable and Charityvest. Our account on Ren is approved, and many US donor advised fund programs send their grants through Ren. You can give through Pledge and Every.org as well. We are also listed in CAF America's international database for corporate giving.
Will my zakat reach those in need in full?
Yes. 100% of your zakat reaches families in need, with nothing deducted. Honoring this trust is one of the most precious responsibilities we carry.
Which currencies can I give in?
On our website, you can give in US dollars, Turkish lira, euros, British pounds or Australian dollars. If you would rather give by bank transfer, our Wise account lets us receive your transfer in many other currencies too. When you give through a platform, the platform sets the currency.
Following your gift
How will I know where my donation went?
Within 72 hours of your gift, we write to you with the region and the day it reached. In projects, the region, step and date are added to your account as each stage is completed. That way, you can follow your kindness at every step.
What update will I receive within 72 hours?
Your receipt arrives in your inbox right after your gift. Within 72 hours, we write to tell you the region your gift reached, which day of the response it was and which stage it joined. To protect the dignity of families, we never share their names, faces or addresses. In projects, the region, step and date are added to your account as each stage is completed.
Where can I follow my gift?
Just enter your donation number and email address on our Track Your Donation page. If you supported a project, the region, step and date of each stage are also added to your account.
Where do I find my donation number?
Your donation number is on the receipt we email you right after you give. If you sign in to your account, you can see all your gifts without typing a number.
What do Preparing, Confirmed, In field and Delivered mean?
Preparing is the moment before your payment is complete. Confirmed means your gift has reached us and its record is open. In field means our team or our field partner is bringing the aid to families, and Delivered means the aid was handed to families and recorded. You will see the same four words in our app.
I gave through Benevity or Every.org. How can I follow my gift?
A gift made through a platform reaches us with that platform's own record, so you will not receive one of our donation numbers. Just write to us and we will gladly tell you which appeal your gift reached.
Receipts and tax
Is my donation tax deductible in the US?
If you are a US taxpayer, yes. The IRS recognizes our foundation as a 501(c)(3) charity. After every gift, your receipt is sent to your email address.
I live outside the US. Can I get a tax deduction?
Because our foundation is recognized as a 501(c)(3) in the US, the tax deduction applies to US taxpayers. If you live in another country, the rules depend on its own laws. Write to us, and we will gladly look at the options together.
I can't find my receipt. What should I do?
Your receipt is emailed to you right after every gift. If you cannot find it, you can see the record of your gift on the My Donations page of your account. You can also simply write to us, and we will send your receipt again right away.
Where can I verify your tax exemption?
Simply search for our EIN (35-2882867) in the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search. You can also find our organization details and our 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency on our Candid profile.
Can we request your W-9 and IRS determination letter?
Of course. We will gladly send your company or organization our W-9, our IRS determination letter and any other documents you need through a secure, trackable channel. Simply write to us.
Transparency and accountability
How much of my donation reaches the field?
92% of your gift goes straight to field projects. 5% keeps the foundation running, and 3% supports awareness work that helps us reach more hearts. Our real costs are far higher, and our founders gladly cover the difference themselves.
Who covers the foundation's running costs?
Our real costs are far higher than the 8% set aside from donations. Our founders gladly cover the difference from their own means. That is how 92% of your gift goes straight to the field.
Why don't you publish your documents on your website?
We want to keep them from being altered and misused. Instead, we will send our IRS determination letter, our W-9 and any other document you need right away, through a secure and trackable channel. You can also verify our tax exemption in the IRS's own search at any time.
Are you a public charity or a private foundation?
Under US tax law, our foundation is classified as a public charity under sections 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(vi). For individual donors, this allows wider tax deduction limits than a private foundation.
What does the Candid Platinum Seal mean?
Platinum is Candid's highest seal of transparency. We earned it by setting out our goals, how we work and how we measure our results openly on our Candid profile. Only a small number of US nonprofits hold this seal.
Where can I see your annual financial return?
We file our annual return with the IRS on Form 990-EZ every year. Our organization details and transparency seal are public on our Candid profile. If anything is unclear, simply write to us.
Are you registered on SAM.gov for federal grants?
Yes. We are registered on SAM.gov, and our UEI is KY8DAVRBXUA3. We will gladly provide any information you need for a federal or corporate application.
Where can I verify your foundation?
You can search our EIN (35-2882867) in the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search. Our Candid profile shows our 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency, and the Delaware registry lists our legal name, No Name Foundation.
Do you accept gifts from sanctioned countries?
No. We do not work in sanctioned countries or regions, and we do not accept gifts from them. We regularly screen our donors, partners and suppliers against US, UN and UK sanctions lists.
How do you screen for sanctions?
Throughout the day, we screen our donors, partners and suppliers against five official lists. They are the US Treasury's two OFAC lists, the US Commerce Department's Consolidated Screening List, and the UN Security Council and UK lists. The lists are refreshed in full every week. We never work with any sanctioned person or organization.
Companies and giving platforms
Can I support you through my company's giving program?
Of course, and it would mean a lot to us. We are listed as a verified foundation on channels such as Benevity, Blackbaud YourCause, Bright Funds, Millie, FrontStream, GivingForce and Givmo. Simply search for No Name Foundation or our EIN in your program. Our Benevity ID is 840-352882867. If your company matches gifts, your kindness can grow even further.
How does my company match my gift?
Simply make your gift through your company's giving portal, or record it there. If your company matches gifts, the portal creates the matching request itself. If the platform asks us to confirm anything, we reply as soon as we can.
When do gifts made through platforms reach you?
Platforms such as Benevity gather donations and usually transfer them to our bank account once a month. Donor advised funds such as Fidelity Charitable usually send approved grants within ten business days. Some platforms deduct a small processing fee and show it clearly on their own pages.
Can we run a giving campaign for our employees?
We would be truly glad. Our emergency campaign pages on Benevity and our stories on YourCause are ready for workplace campaigns. Simply write to us, and we will choose the right campaign for your company together.
Can our company join your volunteer work?
We would love that. We are an approved organization on POINT and Field Day. If you would like to plan a volunteer day with your team, simply write to us.
How can our compliance team reach you?
Simply write to us through our contact details. We will read your question carefully and reply with care. If you need more information for your review, we will gladly provide it through a secure channel.

Volunteering
Can I volunteer with you?
Of course, it would mean a great deal to us. You can reach us through our volunteer page. We will talk about your interests and the time you have, and find the best way for you to help, together.
Who can volunteer?
Anyone aged 18 or over can apply. No experience is needed, your wish to help families is enough for us.
Can I volunteer remotely?
Of course. You can help from anywhere in the world with work such as translation, design, writing and research. Simply choose Remote support in the form.
Is there a fee to volunteer?
No. We do not ask you for any fee to volunteer.
What happens after I apply?
Our team reads every application carefully. We write to your email address or give you a call to get to know you. We talk about your interests and the time you have, and plan your first task together.
How does the emergency call list work?
If disaster strikes in your region and we need volunteers, we will let you know by email. For your own safety, please do not travel to a disaster area on your own. When help is needed, we will write to tell you where and how you can join.
Who sees my details?
Only our team sees your details. They are never given to anyone else or published on the site. We only write to you about volunteering.
Local partners
What do your partners take on?
Most of our partners are field partners. They assess needs with us on the ground and hand aid to families in person. Our logistics and supply partners stand by us in buying, storing and shipping aid supplies. Our aid and giving network partners help kindness reach more hearts.
How can we become your partner?
Simply fill in the application form on our partner portal. Our team reads every application carefully and gets in touch to get to know you. Once we know you and have screened you against sanctions lists, we set out together.
What do you expect from your partners?
We work with organizations that know their region and its families closely, deliver aid based only on need and without distinction, and hold the dignity of families above everything else. Recording every delivery with us is also part of our partnership.
What information do I need to apply?
Your name, email address, phone number, and the country and region you work in are enough. If you have an organization, you can add its name too. We do not ask for documents at this stage, and we talk through the details together as we get to know you.
Can I apply as an individual?
Of course. Even without an organization, you can apply if you work in a region where you can reach families closely. Simply leave the organization name empty.
What do I do in the panel?
You see the donations assigned to you and update each one as Accepted, On the way or Delivered. You also add the photo of the handover here. Every update reaches the donor by email in our approved template.
Will the donor see my name or my phone number?
No. The email to the donor comes from our foundation, and your name and phone number are never shown to the donor. You also see the donor only by first name and the initial of the last name.

Our organization and team
Are Quenara Foundation and No Name Foundation the same organization?
Yes, both are us. No Name Foundation is the legal name of our foundation, registered in Delaware, USA. Quenara Foundation is the name you know us by, and our humanitarian work is carried out under it. As No Name Foundation, we hold all legal and financial responsibility.
If the foundation was established in 2024, why do you say 1980?
Because this work began in 1980. Since then, our family has helped people in need with its own means, never asking for anything in return. On December 30, 2024, we turned that effort into a formal foundation that anyone can see. That is our official founding date.
Who runs the foundation?
Our foundation is governed by a board of directors. Our founders cover most of the foundation's running costs from their own means. For their safety, we do not publish the names of our team and partners on our website. If your company or organization would like to know more about our board and team, we will gladly provide this information through a secure channel.
Where is your registered address?
Our registered address is 8 The Green, Suite B, Dover, Delaware 19901, USA. Our operations center, where we follow crises and record every delivery, is in Istanbul.
Why can't we see the names of your team and partners?
Our colleagues and partners often work in dangerous places. Keeping their names private protects them and the families they serve. If you are a corporate donor and would like to know more, simply write to us. We will gladly reply through a secure channel.
Which languages can we write to you in?
You are welcome to write to us in any language. We read every message carefully and reply with care in your own language.
What sets Quenara apart from other charities?
When an emergency strikes, we lose no time and go straight to the families. We work with our own field team in the United States and with our teams and local partners in 48 countries around the world. Our founders cover the foundation's running costs, and we keep a record of every gift in our open ledger. That way, you always know where your gift went.
What do you mean by 44 years?
Since 1980, our family has helped people in need with its own means, never asking for anything in return. On December 30, 2024, we turned that work into a formal foundation that anyone can see. Those 44 years are the years we stood by families before the foundation existed, without asking anyone for a thing. Today we care for your gift with that same devotion.
Who works on your team?
Our own field team works in the US, and our teams and local partners work around the world. From search and rescue, flood, fire and storm response to emergency relief in war zones, from food, health, water and winter relief to Our Furry Friends and wildlife, every part of our work is in the hands of people who have done it for years. Our logistics, procurement and records teams make sure aid reaches the right place on time. Our operations center, where we follow crises and record every delivery, is in Istanbul.
Where are your seven centers?
Our headquarters is in Delaware. Our operations centers are in Istanbul, Gaza and N'Djamena. We run logistics and coordination for Southeast Asia from Ho Chi Minh City, our work in Indonesia from Bali, and coordination and distribution for the Asia Pacific from Sydney.

Your details and reaching us
Will my name appear anywhere?
No. We never publish our donors' names, and the gift record on our website never shows your name. When you give through a platform, you can usually choose whether your details are passed on to us.
Is my information used for advertising?
No, never. We do not send our donors' information to any advertising tools. Our donation and account pages are also closed to search engines. The trust you place in us means a great deal to us.
When will you reply to my message?
Our team works every day of the week and replies within 24 hours. We read every message carefully and reply with care.
