Access to Lifesaving Medicines | No Prescription Left Behind

Some medicines cannot wait. A child with asthma needs an inhaler before the next attack and a child with a severe allergy needs an epinephrine autoinjector at school. A person with epilepsy needs every daily dose to stay free of seizures. In a KFF poll taken this spring 27 percent of American adults said they had not filled a prescription because of the cost. Nineteen percent said they had cut pills in half or skipped doses and 31 percent had taken an over the counter product instead of what the doctor ordered. Four in ten had done at least one of these things in the past year. Behind each of those numbers is a family deciding what their child can go without. Your gift pays for one of those prescriptions. It may be an asthma inhaler or a two pack of epinephrine autoinjectors for a classroom or a month of seizure medicine. The prescribing doctor decides what is needed and we pay the pharmacy directly. Our own field staff carry out this work in Oklahoma from the Red River towns to the Cherokee Nation hills. Your account will name the Oklahoma town where the medicine was picked up no later than 72 hours after you give. May ALLAH protect every child who carries an inhaler to school and every family who counts the pills left in the bottle.

I teach second grade and two of my students carry inhalers. When one ran out last spring I saw how scared the whole class got.
Olivia K.

As a pharmacy technician I watch people walk away from medicine they need. This appeal pays the counter directly and that matters to me.
Tyler B.

I wanted my gift tied to one real prescription and not lost in overhead. Here I can see the town where it was filled.
Emily T.
St. Cloud, Minnesota
My nephew has epilepsy and his medicine is the reason he can drive and work. Every family deserves that same steady supply.
Abigail G.
Valparaiso, Indiana
I carry an autoinjector for a nut allergy myself. I cannot imagine a child going to school without one because of the price.
Ryan K.
Muncie, Indiana
Prescriptions run out every month so I made my gift monthly too. It is a simple way to keep pace with a real need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about this donation

1Which charities can I donate to for prescription costs?

Quenara Foundation accepts gifts on this page and in its app. A medicine gift pays a pharmacy for an inhaler or an allergy autoinjector or seizure medicine.

2Which charities help children get asthma inhalers?

Quenara Foundation does through its own field staff in Oklahoma who work with school nurses and pay pharmacies directly for the inhaler a doctor prescribed.

3How many Americans skip prescriptions because of cost?

In a KFF poll from early 2026 27 percent of adults said they had not filled a prescription because of the cost in the past year.

4What do people do when they cannot afford medicine?

The same KFF poll found 19 percent cut pills in half or skipped doses and 31 percent used an over the counter product instead.

5Why does a child need two autoinjectors?

A second dose is sometimes needed if symptoms return before help arrives. Allergy specialists usually prescribe a pack of two.

6What happens if seizure medicine is missed?

Missing doses raises the chance of a breakthrough seizure. Neurologists ask patients with epilepsy to keep every dose on schedule.

7What is a rescue inhaler?

It is a quick acting inhaler that opens the airways during an asthma attack. People with asthma are told to keep one with them at all times.

8Who chooses each inhaler or tablet?

The prescribing doctor. Our staff only pay the pharmacy for the prescription that doctor sent.

9Where does my money go?

Straight to the Oklahoma pharmacy that hands over the inhaler or autoinjector or seizure tablets. Parents never touch the money.

10Where do you work on medicine access?

Our own staff work across Oklahoma with independent pharmacies and school nurses from Lawton to Tahlequah.

11Do you help with insulin or dialysis too?

Those needs have their own Quenara appeals. This appeal covers inhalers and allergy autoinjectors and seizure medicine.

12How will I know a prescription was filled?

Our staff post the pharmacy's town to your account as soon as the refill is picked up and always inside 72 hours.

13Can I give every month?

Yes. Set your gift to repeat each month and it keeps one more inhaler or seizure refill ready.
