HIV and AIDS Treatment Support | Copays and Lab Work Covered Across the South

Across the American South a pharmacy copay or an unpaid lab bill can be the reason someone living with HIV misses a refill. CDC figures updated in May 2026 show that just over half of all new HIV diagnoses in the country are in the South. Worldwide 22 percent of people living with HIV are still not receiving treatment according to the UNAIDS report released in July 2026. Each gift to this appeal settles one of those bills for one person. Most often it is a copay for antiretroviral medicine or the fee for a viral load test. A clinic social worker tells our team who is close to missing care and we review the bill together. Our team pays the provider directly and files its official receipt. Nothing is handed over in cash and no family has to front the money. Across the US our own field team does this work. In South Africa our team works with local partner organizations. Within 72 hours your account shows the city where care was given and the bill your gift settled. Nothing about a person's health appears in your account. May ALLAH ease the path of every family caring for someone with HIV.

What Our Donors Say
Liana M.
Durham, NC
A public radio segment said some HIV clinics in the South are cutting staff this year. Giving on the website took a moment and my receipt came right away.
Bria T.
Baton Rouge, LA
A copay should never be the reason someone goes without HIV medicine. That thought stayed with me after reading this page so now I give every month.
Terrence W.
Memphis, TN
My cousin texted me this appeal and asked if I had seen it. I gave forty dollars through the app and the update named a town in Alabama and a lab fee.
Kendra J.
Mobile, AL
Babies born to mothers living with HIV need a test early and I did not know that until I read about it here. I gave to this appeal the same evening.
Shayla R.
Oakland, CA
Only the bill gets paid and nothing about the patient's health appears in my account. I found that reassuring after a short documentary sent me here.
Brent H.
Hartford, CT
Lab fees rarely come up when people talk about HIV treatment. I gave on my lunch break and the confirmation was waiting before I finished eating.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about this donation

1Which charities can I donate to for HIV treatment?

Quenara Foundation takes gifts on this page and in its app. Most of them settle a copay or a lab fee for someone in the American South.

2Which charities help people living with HIV?

Quenara Foundation works with clinics across the US through its own field team and with partner organizations in South Africa where newborn testing is a priority.

3Can a donation cover an HIV medication copay?

It can. When a copay is the reason a refill is waiting our team pays the pharmacy directly and the medicine is released the same day.

4How many new HIV diagnoses are there in the US?

The CDC counted 38,793 new HIV diagnoses in 2024. Just over half of them were in the South.

5How many people with HIV are not on treatment?

UNAIDS reported in July 2026 that 22 percent of people living with HIV were still not receiving treatment.

6Does HIV treatment work?

Antiretroviral therapy keeps the virus under control. UNAIDS found that 95 percent of people on treatment in 2025 had the virus suppressed.

7What is a viral load test?

It measures how much HIV is in the blood. Doctors use it to see whether treatment is working and usually repeat it every few months.

8Is money ever handed to the patient?

We settle the bill with the provider and file its official receipt. The patient and the family never receive cash from this appeal.

9Who decides which bill is paid?

A social worker or nurse at the treating clinic brings us the case. Our team checks the bill with the clinic before anything is paid.

10Can I give on World AIDS Day?

Many people give on December 1. A gift that day settles a copay or a lab fee just as it would in any other week.

11When will I know where my gift went?

Within 72 hours your account shows the city where care was given and the bill your gift settled. Medical details stay private.

12Do you support HIV care outside the US?

In South Africa our team works with local partner organizations. Testing for newborns whose mothers live with HIV is one of the costs we meet there.

13Can I set up a monthly gift?

Choose monthly at checkout. Each month your gift settles another bill and a new city appears in your account.
