Food Cooperative | Surplus Becomes a Meal

We gather the healthy surplus of cafes, bakeries and markets bound for the bin, sort it, turn it into food suitable for street lives, and leave it at the circular feeding point. We renew the water bowls and set small shelter boxes, kept in order on a care round. We add to your panel the frame of the lives that have eaten, with date and location. We do not spend the gift at random. We gather the surplus, turn it into a meal, set the feeding point, renew the water bowl, and take the loop into follow up. The business, the volunteer and the feeding point meet in one loop, kept on your file. A small intention turns a surplus bound for the bin into a full bowl on the street, clean water.

Let surplus become a meal

Within 72 hours your cooperative gift becomes a bakery agreement, a cold store, transport crates or a scale, and the kilos collected and distributed are reported to you.

Surplus Should Not Be Binned
A bakery's evening leftovers and a shop's last day shelf go into the bin. A cooperative takes that surplus under agreement. Your gift goes to an agreement, a van or crates, and the kilos collected are reported.

The Cold Chain Matters
Collected food that misses the cold store is gone within a day. Cold store, crates and packaging make one file, and the gap between kilos collected and kilos distributed is written to you.

Volunteers Are Trained
Telling spoiled food apart takes training. Hygiene kits and training sit on one line, and the number trained with the sorting error rate are reported separately.

A Cooperative Stands Alone
The aim is to stop depending on donation. As agreements grow, the donated share falls. In the sixth month the proportion arriving as surplus is measured and sent to you.

2What is circular food?

It is the businesses' healthy surplus bound for the bin, gathered and sorted and turned into food suitable for street lives.

3How do I verify the support?

The dated, located photo of the full bowl of circular food and the life eating from it is uploaded to your panel within 72 hours.

4Is the surplus safe?

Only healthy and suitable surplus is gathered and sorted, and anything spoiled or harmful to street lives is set apart for certain.

5How often is the water bowl renewed?

On the care round the bowls are gathered, washed and refilled with clean water, and stale water is never left.

6What is a shelter box?

It is a small insulated shelter that protects from cold and rain, with a dry bed inside, left at visible corners.

7Does my gift go to a single point?

The loop extends to the other corners of that quarter too, but each record is logged to a set point and followed.

8How do businesses take part?

Cafes, bakeries and markets donate their day end healthy surplus, and our volunteers gather it and turn it into a meal.

9Can I become a member of the cooperative?

10Is there suitable food for pups?

11Why does the loop matter?

It turns a resource bound for the bin into a meal, both preventing waste and feeding a hungry life.

12Can I get a tax deduction receipt?

Yes. Quenara is a Delaware based 501(c)(3) organization, and your receipt is sent through your panel.

13Is a record kept after the field round?

Yes. The gathering, the turning, the feeding point and the volunteer's signature are kept on file, and the process is clear from start to finish.
