Common questions about this donation
Quenara Foundation runs beach cleanups where volunteers pick up plastic by hand before it can harm seabirds and seals. Crews keep clear of nests and leave hazardous items for a licensed waste firm.
Thanks for asking. It covers volunteer kits and a shoreline cleanup day. Sorting the debris and hauling it to an authorized facility are part of it too.
In the US our own field team runs every cleanup. In Canada and elsewhere our team works with a local field partner and local volunteers.
No one on our crew touches it. We mark the spot and call a permitted rescue network. Their travel and supply costs can come from this gift.
Marked nesting areas stay off limits and nests are never touched. We work only where the site steward says it is safe.
Machine raking strips away the wrack and the small life sheltering in it. Our volunteers pick by hand with grabbers and gloves.
We leave them where they are. A licensed waste firm is told the location and collects them safely.
We stay out of closed beaches and advisory zones. After a storm we start once the closure has been lifted.
We sort and tally debris on site but we do not promise a weight or a count. Your update names the area and the work instead.
Within 72 hours your account shows the town or district and the job your gift covered.
We appreciate the thought. The crew chooses the shore with the heaviest buildup and your update tells you which area it was.
Your receipt reaches your email the moment your donation clears. Your donation number sits at the top.
