Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about this donation
Quenara Foundation funds transport and stabilizing care for oiled seabirds so permitted rescuers can wash them once they are strong enough. Birds go free only after a vet clears them.
It funds transport for oiled wildlife and vet stabilization and treatment. Washing supplies and monitoring before release are covered. So is cleanup gear for shores declared safe.
Only permitted rescue networks and licensed specialists and vets capture and wash wildlife. Our team never handles the creatures. We fund the work and serve beside these teams.
A bird coated in oil arrives weak. It first needs fluids and food and rest. Washing begins once it is strong enough to take it.
Please do not try to pick it up. Call your local wildlife rescue hotline or rehabilitation center. Birds found early have a better chance of recovery.
Sadly not every bird recovers. A vet releases a bird only when it can live safely in the wild. Your gift keeps care going so each one gets that chance.
In some incidents the responsible party pays. Natural seeps and spills with no known source often have no such funding. That is the gap your gift helps close.
Within 72 hours your account shows the town or city where your gift worked and the job it covered.
Thank you for caring about that. Field teams set the area and the job by need. That way your gift works where it matters most.
Our team never enters closed or hazardous areas. It cleans up only on shores that officials have declared safe and always with local volunteers.
In the US and Mexico our own field team works beside permitted rescuers. Elsewhere our team works with a local field partner.
