The Wisconsin prairie:
On a Wisconsin prairie our team walks the site with a botanist and lists which native flowers are missing. A bee specialist counts species by sight alone and the survey sheet filled on day one. Here our own field team does the work.

Ontario field edges:
Since 2000 the rusty patched bumble bee has been confirmed in only 13 states and Ontario. Farmers meet the crew before the summer hay cut and two farms agreed to leave edges uncut. In Ontario our team and local partner lead the training.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about this donation
Quenara Foundation protects rare wild bees including rusty patched bumblebees by planting native wildflowers and leaving nesting ground undisturbed. A season of monitoring follows.
Thank you for asking. Your gift supports endangered wild bees such as the rusty patched bumble bee and other wild pollinators that nest in the ground.
A specialist survey comes first. Then native seed and plugs are planted and nest and overwintering areas are protected. Monitoring runs through the season.
This is field work rather than a symbolic adoption. No pack or certificate is sent. Your gift goes into habitat for wild bees.
A permitted bee specialist surveys and counts them by sight. Nobody on our team handles a bee.
Native wildflowers are the best food source for these bees. A botanist picks plants so something is in flower from spring through fall.
Bumble bees nest in the soil and queens spend winter in the ground. Leaving those patches unplowed and unmowed protects the next generation.
In the US our own field team plants and monitors sites. In Canada our team works alongside a local field partner.
Our team does no spraying and catches nothing. It also stays out of closed or unsafe areas.
The town or city where your gift worked and the task it covered appear in your account within 72 hours.
Your receipt reaches your email as soon as the payment clears.
We appreciate the thought. Specialists in the field decide where the need is greatest and your gift supports the whole program.
Gifts are accepted only at quenarafoundation.com and in the Quenara app.
