Support for manatees on the Indian River Lagoon:
From November 27, 2026, our own field team and our volunteers will support licensed manatee rescue teams on the Indian River Lagoon in Florida through the cold months. We provide rescue transport support, veterinary supplies and care supplies for manatees in rehabilitation, and our volunteers clear discarded fishing line and litter from the lagoon shoreline, while only licensed and authorized rescue teams and veterinarians handle and treat the manatees. An Unusual Mortality Event linked to the loss of seagrass in the Indian River Lagoon began in December 2020 and its investigation is ongoing, and manatees need water warmer than 68 degrees Fahrenheit to survive long cold spells. We work in close coordination with the local authorities.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about this donation
Quenara Foundation sends Ocean Conservation Fund gifts to whichever marine rescue task is most urgent that week. It pays for vehicles and fuel and medicine and pool time for stranded marine wildlife.
Quenara Foundation supports permitted networks that rescue sea turtles and dolphins and whales on US coasts and in Sri Lanka. Our team also removes lost nets and line from the shore.
Thank you for asking. Your gift covers vehicles and fuel for permitted rescue networks and medicine for licensed vets. Rehab food and monitoring gear and shore cleanup kits come from it too.
This is a pooled fund. Each gift goes to the marine work with the greatest need that week. That way help reaches whichever creature is waiting.
Only permitted rescue networks and licensed specialists and vets handle a wild patient. Our team funds the costs and works beside them in the field.
We bring gear and vehicles to the site and handle logistics. We also run shore cleanups with local volunteers. We never touch a wild patient or a nest.
Within 72 hours your account shows the town or city your gift reached and the work it funded.
In the US our own field team works on the coast. In Sri Lanka our team works alongside a local field partner.
It can. Food and pool costs are covered for as long as a patient stays in care. Field days for monitoring after release are included as well.
Fishing line and ghost nets on the sand are a hazard for coastal wildlife. Our team clears beaches with local volunteers and the kit comes from this fund.
Thank you for understanding. That work belongs to the authorities. The fund is used to rescue and treat and care for living wildlife.
Your receipt reaches your email as soon as the payment clears. Your donation number is printed at the top.
