Meal Offerings | The Shared Table Again

In the square of a village outside N'Djamena a shared table is set, the smell of hot food spreading through the quarter, and a tradition scattered by the drought comes alive again as everyone gathers. That moment is where your intention meets the ground. We do not bring food from afar. At our local kitchen in Chad we cook fresh and deliver quarter-based meal offerings to the village's shared table on a hot-transport chain, before they cool. Within 72 hours we add to your panel frames of the shared table in the village, with everyone gathered, and the date. A community sets its scattered table again, and neighbours meet at the same table.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about this donation

1What do the meal offerings cover?

They cover hot, quarter-based meals cooked fresh at our local kitchen, their delivery to the village's shared table, and the photo record at the table.

2How many do the offerings serve?

The offerings are prepared quarter-based and serve a village's shared table. The community's size is kept on file, and the portion is set accordingly.

3Where is the food cooked?

At our local kitchen in Chad, with fresh ingredients the same day. It is not brought from afar, so it arrives hot and fresh.

4Do the offerings arrive cold?

No. They are carried on a hot-transport chain and are still warm, steam rising, when set at the village's table.

5How are the offerings distributed?

They are distributed quarter-based and set at the village's shared table. Families and neighbours share the same table.

6Is the food halal and clean?

Yes. It is cooked halal and in clean conditions at our local kitchen, and its cleanliness is kept along the way.

7How do I verify the delivery?

A frame of the shared table in the village and the date are uploaded to your panel within 72 hours.

8Which community do the offerings go to?

To the villages and quarters in the most urgent need. Every offering is tracked on its own named file.

9Does my gift go only to this table?

Yes. Every offering is tracked on its own file, and your gift is used only for that community.

10Can I set up regular offerings?

Yes. If you wish, you can set up a regular shared table for one village, and a record of each delivery reaches your panel separately.

11Why Chad, N'Djamena?

The area around N'Djamena hosts villages cut off from the shared-table tradition by prolonged drought.

12Can I get a tax-deduction receipt?

Yes. Quenara is a Delaware-based 501(c)(3) organization, and your receipt is sent through your panel.

13Is there a bond with the community afterwards?

Yes. Our team stays in the field, watches the community's access to a shared table, and keeps the kitchen running.
